FAQIs Hearth a mortgage lender or broker?
No. Hearth is planning software. It doesn’t sell loans, take referral fees, or send your information to lenders — it has no way to, since nothing leaves your machine.
Where do my documents live?
In a plain documents folder on your disk, organized however you like. Hearth tracks status and dates; the files themselves are ordinary files you can open and back up with anything.
Are the mortgage numbers accurate?
The math is standard amortization plus the taxes, insurance, PMI, and fee figures you enter. It’s a planning estimate — your lender’s Loan Estimate is the binding document.
Is there a subscription?
No. Hearth is a one-time purchase when it launches. Bug fixes are always free; major version upgrades are a separate purchase. No account, no recurring billing.
What happens to my data after I close?
It stays yours. The profile JSON and documents folder remain on your disk as a complete record of the purchase — useful at tax time and beyond.
