The Tynkr apps collect nothing
Tynkr Ledger, Vault, Hearth, and Forge are local-first desktop apps. There are no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, and no cloud. Everything you enter is stored in files on your own computer, and we have no way to see, receive, or recover any of it. The only network activity an app performs is:
- An optional update check — a download of a static version file and installer from our public release feed on GitHub. Nothing about you or your data is sent, and you can turn the check off in Settings.
- License validation (only on copies activated with a license key) — transmits the license key and a random installation identifier, and nothing else. Never your files, your content, or your personal information.
If you place an app's data folder or backups inside a synced folder (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive), that copy is governed by that provider's terms — the choice, and the folder, are yours.
What this website collects
That's it. The site has no accounts, no comment system, and no forms that submit to us.
The email list lives on Substack
If you join the Tynkr list, the signup happens on Substack — this site just sends you there. Your email address is stored and processed by Substack under Substack's privacy policy; we see it only inside our Substack dashboard and use it for nothing except sending the newsletter. Every email has one-click unsubscribe.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising.
- We never run third-party ads or ad trackers.
- We never receive the data you put into a Tynkr app — by design, we can't.
Children
This site and the Tynkr apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because we collect so little, changes should be rare and boring.
